Description: This patient presented with a very compelling and moving story. She had very large breasts at an early age and presented with a 36HH bra size. She had over 30 years of shoulder, neck, upper and lower back pain with severe ulcerations and rashes under her breasts dating back at least 10 years for which she required medical care. She could not exercise or play in the pool with her young son. She dreaded flying in airplanes because when the person in front of her reclined, the chair back would strike her chest. She also was unable to put down her tray table for the same reason. Because her nipple areolar complexes needed to be moved 20cm, she underwent bilateral breast reduction by Dr. Lu utilizing the free nipple graft technique. 799 grams were removed from the right breast and 1023 grams from the left breast. After her breast reduction, she was a 38C, and in a letter to us, she rejoiced “I feel like a completely different person. I am now free to enjoy life to the fullest...My only question is 'why did I wait soooo long?!'”

Description: This patient with 34DD breasts had had difficulty with rashes between and below her breasts as well permanent grooving of the shoulders. Description: This patient initially presented to Dr. Lu at a weight of 265 pounds. She was a 44H bra size and complained of large pendulous breasts with neck pain, back pain and shoulder grooving, rashes underneath her breasts, and cold, blue, tender and swollen breast tissue. Her breasts hung down the level of her navel. Dr. Lu asked her to lose 65 pounds prior to surgery in order to reduce her chance of surgical complications, which the patient did through diet and exercise over a period of 9 months. Because her nipple areolar complexes needed to be moved more than 20cm, she underwent bilateral breast reduction by Dr. Lu utilizing the free nipple graft technique. 1250 grams were removed from the right breast and 1455 grams from the left breast. Her neck and back are pain free and she is now a 44B bra size.
