Description: This patient had always disliked her prominent nipples showing through her bras and close fitting clothing. She was undergoing breast reconstruction with saline implants after bilateral nipple sparing mastectomies for cancer and requested that Dr. Lu perform a nipple reduction at the same time. Dr. Lu removed a ring of skin only from the base of the nipple and "telescoped" the nipple into a less prominent position. Other methods of nipple reduction include removal of the top of the nipple or a wedge from underneath the nipple. The scar is very subtle.
